The BOG appoints the and each university president, approves new academic programs, sets tuition, and coordinates and approves the annual State System operating budget. Additionally, each university has a Council of Trustees that serves as a policy-setting board for the university.
The president is the chief executive officer for the university and oversees the operations and governance of the university as delineated in .
The provost is the chief academic officer and vice president for academic affairs. The provost is the strategic leader for the Academic Affairs division and responsible for academic programs and services offered through the colleges. Each college consists of a number of departments under which the academic programs are offered. The Division of Academic Affairs also oversees the university library, registrar鈥檚 office, Global Online, and academic support services.
